AI and Law

<p>If you are interested in how artificial intelligence (AI) affects law and how the legal system can adapt to the challenges posed by AI, this distance learning course is for you. The course is conducted in English and there are no scheduled components. No prior legal knowledge is required.</p><p>The course comprises 5 ECTS credits and teaching takes place on site. It is conducted at half speed (50%) and runs for 7 weeks during the autumn term. </p><p>The course is conducted remotely with professionally pre-recorded video lectures. The lectures are available on the course website together with related reading material. Watching the video lectures is not compulsory but is recommended in order to get the most out of the course. The course is divided into four (4) modules. At the end of each module, there is a self-correcting test based on the content of the module, and a passing grade on the test is required to continue to the next module. The examination consists of an essay. A central part of the course is to identify both current and potential challenges and opportunities that arise when AI and law meet. Furthermore, the course aims to highlight key issues, such as how legal certainty and accountability are affected when AI is used in legal decision-making.</p>
