Efter avslutad kurs ska studenten kunna 1. analysera och identifiera byggnadsstilar från olika arkitekturhistoriska stilepoker 2. beskriva äldre epokers byggnadsteknik 3. identifiera arkitektoniska termer och byggnadselement 4. bedöma äldre byggnaders värdebärande och konstnärliga egenskaper med syfte att i samband med ändring kunna göra en korrekt avvägning av vad som ska rivas, bevaras respektive kompletteras 5. redogöra för aktuell lagstiftning som berör ändring och bevarande av byggnad 6. analysera kraven på tillgänglighetsanpassning av äldre byggnader 7. upprätta ritningar som visar grundläggande förståelse för projektering av byggnader vid ändring 8. kommunicera förslag i tal, skrift, ritning och bild.
