With a clear international profile, we move art forward - always with the passion for music and learning at our core.</p><p>The Bachelor's Programme in Music with a specialisation in harpsichord is a three-year full-time university programme. It is aimed at students who want to become professional harpsichordists and develop their artistic skills.</p> <p>The programme focuses on historical instruments and the performance practices of music before 1800. In addition to historical knowledge, there is a strong focus on your artistic and technical development as well as making music in various ensemble formats.</p> <p><strong>The program includes:</strong></p> <p><strong>Instrumental Studies</strong><br /> You will have the opportunity to delve into various music styles, ranging from early music to contemporary music, and explore how they differ in instrumentation, tempering, and ornamentation. Through regular individual lessons, masterclasses, and group lessons, you will develop both technical skills and your artistic expression.</p> <p><strong>Chamber Music</strong><br /> A central part of the education is chamber music, where you will have the chance to play together with other students in smaller ensembles, enhancing your musical sensitivity and communication skills.</p> <p><strong>Projects</strong><br /> You will take part in various thematic collaborations, such as working with the composition students and new music, or the singing class with a focus on specific composers. Collaborations with the Performance programmes in church music are also common.</p> <p><strong>Music Theory</strong><br /> You will develop your skills in identifying and analysing musical structures, which are fundamental to understanding and interpreting music in depth. </p> <p><strong>Music and Society</strong><br /> Courses in 'Music and Society' explore the role and impact of music in various social and cultural contexts.</p> <p><strong>Music as a Profession</strong><br /> The course 'Music as a Profession' will give you a thorough insight into the professional aspects of the music industry while preparing you for a career as a musician.</p> <p><strong>Degree Project (Performance and Reflective Parts)</strong><br /> The performance part (exam concert) constitutes 75% of your degree project. In the exam concert, your artistic and technical expressiveness is made visible. The reflective part makes up 25% of your degree project. The work is based on your own artistic practice and presented in a format of your choice: written, live or pre-recorded.</p> <h3>Admission</h3> <p>You can apply for this programme via www.antagning.se during the period 2 December 2024 - 15 January 2025. </p> <p>Admission to our programmes requires you to audition at the Malmö Academy of Music.
