Bachelor's Programme in Game Design and Graphics

The Bachelor's Programme in Game Design and Graphics gives you the tools and skills you need to work with the game medium professionally, and equips you to develop new expressions within the field. The programme mixes practical game development and theoretical courses within game design and graphics/expression in convergent media. In the programme, you will explore theories and methods in game design, game development and game analysis. Game developers need good communicative skills both to work with their team and to shape the game experience. To reflect this, the programme provides training in expression through text, imagery and games, as well as verbal communication. As a graphics student, you learn to produce art assets for 2D and 3D games, combining theoretical and artistic knowledge with the technical skills inherent in the medium. Through several project courses, the programme also trains practical production in collaboration with students from other disciplines. Among the possible avenues of study, you may pursue animation (2D and 3D), Motion Capture, UI Design and many other areas that form a vital part of the overall process of game development. The programme is located in Visby on the island of Gotland. The language of instruction is English.
