Kursens mål är att ge dig grundläggande kunskaper i kemi samt de experimentella färdigheter som är nödvändiga för fortsatta studier i kemi eller i angränsande områden. Du ska också lära dig att förstå viktiga begrepp som spontanitet i kemiska förlopp och de molekylära egenskaper och drivkrafter som bestämmer riktningen i förloppet till det slutliga jämviktstillståndet. Kursen ska dessutom ge dig en ökad insikt i kemiska reaktioner, vad är exempelvis relationen mellan struktur och funktion?
