Overview
Kursen behandlar de fysikaliska förutsättningarna för informationsöverföring samt hur överföringssystem är uppbyggda och de teorier som ligger till grund för dessa. Stor tonvikt ligger på att studera signaler, analog och digital modulation samt egenskaper och begränsningar hos elektriska och optiska ledningar samt radiokanalen. System för kommunikation behandlas också och då särskilt radiobaserade överföringssystem. Kursen är uppdelad i två moment: 1. Teori, 4.5 hp (Theory, 4.5 ECTS); 2. Laboration, 3 hp (Laboratory, 3 ECTS).

För tillträde till kursen krävs Algebra för ingenjörer, 7.5 hp och minst ett av momenten omfattande 7.5 hp i kursen Analog elektronik, 15 hp eller motsvarande kurser.
