Kursen behandlar grundläggande biokemi, med fokus på biomolekylers struktur och funktion. Dessutom behandlas viktiga processer där biomolekyler ingår t.ex. transport genom membran och enzymkatalys. Under kursen introduceras kromatografiska, elektroforetiska och enkla enzymkinetiska metoder för rening och analys av biomolekyler. Undervisningen sker genom föreläsningar, lektioner och laborationer.
