<p>BIOR96</p><p>Molecular methods have revolutionized plant systematics during recent decades. Systematic information is becoming increasingly web-based, accessible for anyone who knows how to find it and make use of it. This course intends to update and deepen the participants’ knowledge with respect to the diversity, phylogeny and systematics of ferns, gymnosperms and angiosperms. The participants will get an overview of modern morphological terminology. We discuss theories and models based on molecular phylogenies, such as APGIII, the modern classification system of angiosperms. Internet-based tools are introduced and tested. The angiosperm families are presented with special emphasis on cultivated representatives.</p>
Admission scores
Entry requirements
For admission to the course 90 credits of scientific studies including knowledge corresponding to BIOR77 Plant Evolution and Diversity 15 credits, or BIOR25 Molecular Ecology and Evolution 15 credits, are required. Alternatively, for students within the NABIS-program, knowledge corresponding to BIO401 Alphataxonomical Principles 5 credits (University of Gothenburg), and 1BG393 Fundamental and Molecular Systematics 10 credits (Uppsala University), is required. English 5.
