Overview
<p>A course for those interested in cardiovascular biology and medical biology. In this course you will learn from some of Swedens leading experts in cardiovascular diseases discussing arrythmias, heart failure, atherosclerosis, myocardial infarction, thrombosis, cardiovascular imaging, cardiovascular disease models, cardiovascular development and the association between cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. </p><p>While the course is designed for you who have a biomedical bachelor’s degree, there are also students with a medical background attending. The course includes, in addition to lectures, a lab exercise based on analysis of cardiovascular dynamics in zebrafish larvae, a clinical demonstration/visit at the cardiology clinic, journal clubs where recently published articles within cardiovascular biology are discussed, and a pathology dry lab. </p><p>After completing this course you will be up-to-date within the field of cardiovascular biology and medicine and know what you need to embark on a research journey within this field. 165 ECTS credits passed in a major subject area with relevance for biomedical sciences, equivalent to a Swedish Kandidatexamen with at least 90ECTS credits in the following subjects: -biochemistry -cell biology -molecular biology -genetics -gene technology -microbiology -physiology -immunology -histology -anatomy -pathology or similar. English corresponding to the level of English in Swedish upper secondary education (Engelska 6 or Engelska nivå 2). Exemption from Swedish.
