Overview
The course intends to build an understanding of issues pertaining to navigating through the building blocks of health systems in low-resource, vulnerable and fragile settings. While the organisation and functionality of health systems are explained through frameworks and standards, the value addition of the course is its focus on practitioners' challenges with options and strategies to navigate through those. This course will provide you with an introduction to health systems thinking and organisation, health management, community engagement, digital health and the key concepts and definitions in this emerging field. Further, to introduce the basics of financial and non-financial resource management in the context of multiple constraints. You will attend two weeks on-campus and three weeks online. The instruction consists of lectures, seminars, individual and group assignments, and presentations including case studies from fragile contexts, both globally and locally. To be able to participate in this course you will need a computer with internet access, a headset and a webcam. Contact between teacher and student will be via Studium or email and Zoom.

A Bachelor's degree, equivalent to a Swedish Kandidatexamen, from an internationally recognised university. Proficiency in English equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6.
