Overview
Kursen syftar till att studenterna utvecklar fördjupade kunskaper om barn, unga och familjers levnadsvillkor och utsatthet i välfärdssamhället. Kursen avser vidare att ge fördjupade kunskaper i olika teoretiska perspektiv inom området samt villkoren för socialt arbete med barn, unga och familj. Även empiriska jämförelser i tid och rum används för att belysa barns, ungas och familjers levnadsvillkor samt sociala insatser i förhållande till olika former av utsatthet. Kursen har ett problemorienterat arbetssätt och bygger på studenternas aktiva deltagande. Kursen behandlar följande teman: - Barns och ungdomars sociala behov, rättigheter och psykologiska utveckling - Barn, unga och familjers behov, villkor och utsatthet - Fördjupning av teoretiska perspektiv och aktuella forskningsbaserade kunskaper inom områden barn, unga och familj Under kursen studeras ovanstående teman med hjälp av teoretiska kategorier som kön, klass, etnicitet, sexualitet och ålder, samt med komparativa redskap som tid och rum.

A minimum of 90 ECTS within the social sciences education in the following subjects: social work, sociology, Psychology, Peace and conflict studies, pedagogic, Gender Studies and social geography, Political science, Law/legal Science or in other courses that are considered equal to thus above, including an individual essay carrying at least 15 credits or 90 ECTS within nursing including an individual essay carrying at least 15 credits. In addition, English and Swedish are required for basic eligibility for higher education.
