Classroom Music Teaching 5

The course comprises three modules. The course content prepares students for placement (VFU) within the subject area. Module 1 This module includes lessons where students learn to play pop and rock songs on the electric guitar, along with using related technical equipment. It also features skills training in group performance using rhythm section instruments and singing, approached from an educational perspective, as well as the use of technical equipment in this context. The module also covers song transcription and notation in the form of chord charts, and the production of digital backing tracks for educational purposes. Module 2 This module treats general music education and includes: - seminars involving presentations and discussions of texts from current general and music education literature, research, and debate - introduction to and preparation of a personal teaching philosophy The ensemble methodology component primarily includes: - seminars on ensemble leadership from various perspectives - goals, content, and planning - assessment of ensemble performance The classroom methodology component includes: - integrating music with other subjects in lower primary school based on different themes - thematic content for lower primary school, for instance related to the festive season - planning, implementation, and evaluation of teaching content and methods Module 3 This module includes components such as creating sound and music from scratch for moving images, and music history focusing on the role and function of art and popular music in society during the 20th and 21st centuries.
