Climate Change and Society

<p>The course gives you the opportunity to develop knowledge about climate change and its impact on communities around the world.</p> <p>Theoretical knowledge is combined with basic knowledge in e.g. climate modelling and a field trip. </p> <p>The course offers a broad and varied content with climate change as a focus. You will learn about: </p> <ul> <li>the current and future status of climate change and its impact on societies</li> <li>basic knowledge of climate reconstructions and climate modelling</li> <li>changes in the climate system (e.g. temperature and precipitation) and how it affects societies in different parts of the world</li> <li>societal adaptions to climate change</li> </ul> <p>The course consists of three modules: </p> <ul> <li>theory</li> <li>field trip/excursions</li> <li>group assignment</li> </ul> <p>The teaching includes:</p> <ul> <li>excursion</li> <li>lectures</li> <li>exercises</li> <li>seminars</li> <li>group assignment</li> </ul> <p>The course is part of the Bachelor’s Programme in Earth Sciences, the course is also offered as a freestanding course.</p> <p>The course involves additional costs for the student.</p>
