Climate Change Communication

The climate crisis affects all actors in society and is a difficult challenge to manage. Our way of communicating about climate change has a decisive impact on society's ability to adapt. The central role of climate communication in these change processes is constantly emphasised and knowledge in the field increases in step with the seriousness of the situation. The role of digitalisation and the importance of broad public engagement are often emphasised in bringing about change. In this course, the basics of climate communication are studied. Special attention is paid to key research directions and the communicative practices of various actors in the field, such as journalism and citizen dialogues. During the course, climate communication related to transport, housing, consumption and other societal sectors are discussed. The media and communications industry's own climate impact is also highlighted within the course
