Overview
I det offentliga samtalet betraktas konspirationsteorier ofta som en form av desinformation och som nära knuten till populistisk retorik. Idag förmedlas också konspirationsteorier och populistiska tankefigurer i stor utsträckning via audiovisuella fiktionsmedier som TV-serier och spelfilmer, men även via dokumentärfilmer, politiska valfilmer och propagandavideor, etcetera. Men är konspirationsteorier alltid en form av desinformation och därmed ett hot mot demokratiska institutioner och praktiker? Är de alltid i någon mening populistiska? Och hur används audiovisuella uttryck (ljud, musik, rörliga bilder) och berättelser i konstruktionen av konspirationsteoretiska och populistiska budskap? Denna kurs undersöker relationerna mellan konspirationsteorier och populism samt vilken roll audiovisuell kommunikation spelar för spridningen av konspirationsteoretiska och populistiska diskurser i samtiden.

Admission to the course requires completed courses of at least 180 credits, the equivalent course requirements for Bachelor's degree in humanistic or social sciences educational field or an equivalent discipline. Furthermore, knowledge corresponding to English A/English 5 is required.
