Contemporary International Performing Arts - an Orientation

Do you want to meet performing artists and theatres in different countries, be inspired by contemporary international performing arts, and form an idea of aesthetic currents and the varying conditions of creation? Then join this on-line orientation and enrich your understanding of the world through the performing arts. During the course, several live-filmed visits are made to performing arts organisations in different countries and continents. Performing artists present and talk about their creations and the cultural and political context in which they operate. (Here the language is usually English.) The students watch filmed performing arts works. Through group discussions, reading and written reflection, comparisons and analyses are made. The students' references to contemporary performing arts are broadened and the ability to reflect on performing arts is deepened.
