Du kan läsa kursen fritt och med fördel som Fritt vald kurs på avancerad nivå om du läser något av institutionens 2-åriga (120 hp) mastersprogram. Efter kursen kan du förhålla dig kritiskt till arkeologins teorier och metoder, deras historia, politiska dimensioner och relation till diskussioner inom andra discipliner. Kursen består av ett antal föreläsningar och parallellt med dessa arbetar du med en enskild skriftlig uppgift och med att bearbeta en vald frågeställning i ett studielag.

Entry requirements
För tillträde till kursen krävs Kandidatexamen (180hp), eller motsvarande, med något av ämnena Arkeologi eller Antikens kultur och samhällsliv som huvudämne (90hp), alternativt Fil. Kand. examen (120p) med något av ämnena Arkeologi eller Antikens kultur och samhällsliv som huvudämne (60p), (enligt kursplaner gällande till 2007-06- 30). Tillträde till kursen ges också med kandidatexamen i Kulturarv innefattande grund- och fortsättningskurs inom huvudområdet Arkeologi (60 hp).
