Overview
Kursen syftar till att ge grundläggande och tvärvetenskaplig kunskap om kriminologisk teori, metod och empiri. Brottslighetens orsaker, karaktär och utveckling belyses ur såväl samhälls- som individperspektiv. Brottsförebyggande insatser, lagstiftning, påföljdssystem och brottsofferperspektiv är andra områden som behandlas. Kursen innefattar en introduktion till kriminologisk metod, inklusive kriminalstatistik, och etiska aspekter och särskilda utmaningar kopplade till kriminologisk forskning. Kursen är uppdelad i fyra moduler; kriminologisk teori, tillämpade kriminologiska perspektiv, kriminologisk metod och analys samt forskning i praktiken.
