Overview
Kursen vänder sig till dig som är intresserad av kriminalitet som samhällsfenomen, orsaker till att individer begår brott samt hur detta kan relateras till sociala förhållanden med relevans för socialt arbete och yrkesverksamma socionomer. Kursen behandlar kriminologiska teorier och centrala begrepp som syftar till att förklara kriminalitet på individ-, grupp- och samhällsnivå. Med särskilt fokus på brottslighet som ett socialt problem, problematiseras den samtida kriminalpolitiken och dess brottsförebyggande åtgärder. Efter avslutad kurs har studenten grundläggande kunskaper för att verka inom kriminal- och frivård samt verksamheter inom civilsamhället som arbetar med relaterade frågor.

Entry requirements
För att vara behörig till kursen krävs att den studerande har godkänt resultat från kurser SQ4111 Socialt arbete, 30 hp, SQ4122 Juridik för det sociala arbetet, 15 hp och SQ4131 Det sociala arbetets teorier, metoder och etik, 15 hp, enligt utbildningsplan för socionomprogrammet vid Göteborgs Universitet eller har motsvarande kunskaper genom godkända studier om minst 60 hp inom närliggande område samt relevant yrkeserfarenhet.
