Overview
Examensarbetet ska definieras inom ett av tre huvudområden vid institutionen för fysiologisk botanik: 1. växtfysiologi, 2. växtmolekylär biologi, eller 3. Bioinformatik. Projektets relevans inom ett bredare forskningsfält av biologisk karaktär ska tydliggöras både i moment 1: rapport och i moment 2: ett muntligt framförande. Den biologiska disciplin kan till exempel definieras som morfologi, utvecklingsbiologi, evolution, ekologi eller bioteknologi. Innan godkännande av examensarbetet måste studenten ha ingått avtal med handledare och skrivit en projektplan för kursförloppet med en realistisk tidsplan. För studenter som söker sig till mastersutbildningen vid institutionen för fysiologisk botanik från annan ort än Umeå rekommenderas det att studenten tar kontakt med handledare eller programansvariga för mastersutbildningen minst fyra månader innan kursstart.

200 ECTS credits, of which at least 15 ECTS credits are in the main area of chemistry and 60 ECTS credits in the main area of biology where at least 30 ECTS credits should be in plant biology and cell- and molecular biology. Swedish for basic eligibility for higher education programmes and English 6/level 2. Requirements for Swedish only apply if the course is held in Swedish.
