Overview
For efficient collaboration to take place between human beings and computers they need to be able communicate with each other. It all goes through the user interface, which consequently constitutes the critical link between human and machine, between user and function. The user interface must meet many requirements. It should be efficient and powerful, while at the same time being easy to use; it should be well-articulated and trustworthy as well as flexible and forgiving. And it should do all of this while looking good. This course addresses the challenging task of how to design graphical user interfaces that fulfill the multitude of demands placed on this critical component for getting humans and computers to work together.
