Students are independently responsible for carrying out a design research process, partly out in the field, and partly in the design studio. The design research process is carried out in collaboration with researchers, industry and/or other organizations. The design studio attaches not only great importance to applying a design process when investigating knowledge problems and to creating design solutions that stimulate positive social change.

The course Design Research Methods 15 credits. English 6 or English level 2. Exemption of the requirement in Swedish is granted for those with foreign grades.
