Overview
The course gives an overview of the main aspects of the development of Latin America from approximately 1930, both from a regional as well as an international perspective. Areas which will be treated are the depression of the 1930's, the inclusion of the masses in the political process, the industrialization, the Cold War, the debt crisis, the democratization processes of the 1980's, and the challenges which today's political and economical systems face in terms of governmental operations, and sustainable social and economical development.
