Kursen behandlar solvärmeteknikens grundläggande begrepp samt solvärmens funktion och möjligheter i ett värmesystem. Frågor om hur man ökar solvärmeandelen i värmesystem samt hur energin lagras kommer att behandlas. Simuleringsprogram kommer att användas för att designa och optimera solvärmesystemet. En solfångare kommer att konstrueras teoretiskt med hänsyn till den energitekniska funktionen, kostnadseffektiviteten samt materialtekniska aspekter. Solfångaren ska sedan tillverkas och utvärderas.
