Digital Graphics 1

The production of digital content includes almost all the time the use of digital graphics. From a simple photo to a complex animation, graphical content provides new way to transmit information, communicates about a product or a brand, or attract the eye of future customer for a venue. In this course, students will go deeper into graphical design rules in order to improve upon the knowledge gained in the course 1ME311 - Digital Media (or equivalent). The teaching is mainly based on a production perspective with students doing practical work. An advance understanding of the main softwares for media production is given. After the course, students will be able to handle the production of graphical content in a multimedia context. In addition, the course includes aspects of digital distribution, technical construction of image, communicative aspects and copyright issues. The course provides knowledge and skills that are a good foundation for working in the industry of graphic design. Students will acquire theoretical knowledge about graphic design and technical aspect about digital media. In term of practical work, this course covers Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign. Students will also be given practical photography lessons. Part of the course will also cover how to handle teamwork and working for a real customer for the production of digital media content in a practical way.
