Overview
Kursen syftar till att ge kunskap om och förmåga att kritiskt och självständigt analysera företeelser inom ekonomisk geografi. Ekonomiska aktiviteter, processer och relationer har rumsliga dimensioner och dessa hanteras som geografiska utmaningar med sociala, ekonomiska, etiska och miljöanknutna aspekter. Kursens centrala begrepp är, utan inbördes rankning, fysisk planering, handel, transporter, [transport]infrastruktur, rum, plats, kultur, natur/miljö, hållbarhet, konflikter och makt. Utifrån dessa begrepp utforskas och förmedlas kunskap om villkoren för ekonomisk geografi. Geografiska begrepp, processer och relationer är kopplade till rumsliga kontexter. Ekonomisk geografi inbegriper vägandet av olika intressen; mark-, luft- och vattenresurser, risker, konflikter, jämlikhet, samhällsplanering, boende, transporter och demokratiska värden.

Entry requirements
För tillträde till kursen krävs 30 hp i huvudområdet geografi. Studerande med likvärdig utbildning kan efter prövning beredas tillträde till kursen.
