<p>Do you want to understand how economic history is shaped and analysed? This course gives you the tools to think scientifically, work methodically, and interpret complex relationships - a solid foundation for thesis work and further studies.</p><p>In the course Economic History: Theory and Method, you develop your ability to understand and apply scientific theories and methods. You gain in-depth knowledge of how economic-historical studies are developed, from idea to analysis, and learn to handle both qualitative and quantitative methods. </p><p>You gain insight into how the subject of economic history has developed and how it relates to other social sciences. The course addresses central methodological issues, such as selection, source criticism and scientific rigor, and you receive training in discussing scientific perspectives - for example institutional theory, gender and ethnicity. </p><p>The course is suitable for those who want to understand how researchers work and who want to be able to use theories and methods in an independent and reflective manner. It gives you a solid foundation for writing a thesis and to develop in an academic or analytical sense.</p><p> </p><p> </p>
