Overview
Den här kursen behandlar utbildning och social reproduktion i ett brett pedagogiskt perspektiv, och tar upp sociala strukturer som klass, kön, etnicitet/ras och plats. Den fokuserar i synnerhet på teorier inom det utbildningssociologiska fältet. En central frågeställning rör hur social reproduktion har förståtts och teoretiserats inom forskning om utbildning och annan fostran och hur denna förståelse har skiftat över tid och rum. Kursen tar främst upp social reproduktion i formella utbildningssammanhang men behandlar även informell och icke-formell utbildning inom familj, ungdomsgrupper och i relation till arbetslivet. Kursen består av föreläsningar, litteraturseminarier, muntliga redovisningar och ett självständigt arbete.

För tillträde till kursen krävs kandidatexamen i ett samhällsvetenskapligt alternativt utbildningsvetenskapligt ämne, eller en lärarexamen inklusive examensarbete om minst 15 hp eller motsvarande, samt godkända kurser om 15 hp på avancerad nivå inom ett utbildningsvetenskapligt ämne.
