Kursen fördjupar sig i de utbildningspolitiska systemskiften som skedde under 1990talet, vad de innefattade, samt konsekvenserna för pedagogisk forskning och praktik i Sverige och internationellt. Fokus riktas mot samtida forskning om utbildning, lärande och utveckling i olika verksamheter. Olika perspektiv på differentiering, inkludering, social hållbarhet och fostran behandlas.
