Overview

Air pollution causes seven million deaths every year and affects both climate and health. In this course, you will learn how experts from different fields work together to find solutions for a greener future.

Air pollution is a major challenge for both people and the environment. It affects the climate in different ways - sometimes warming, sometimes cooling - which makes predicting climate change difficult. At the same time, it causes diseases that lead to seven million deaths globally each year.

As we move towards a greener economy, some sources of pollution will disappear, but new ones may emerge. To understand and solve these problems, knowledge from several areas is needed. In this course, you will learn how researchers measure air pollution and its spread, how they link pollution to health, and how they study toxicity. You will also see how these results are used to create laws and policies that protect people and the environment.

The course can be taken as a stand-alone option and is ideal for anyone interested in climate, health and sustainable development. The language of instruction is English.
