Electrical Railway Transportation Systems II

The course is aimed at those who have basic knowledge in electrical engineering and want to continue their education after the course Rail-based Electric Transport I. The course continues with the principles of Electrical Railway Transportation Systems with a focus on electrical infrastructure. You study how different components in the power supply system interact, how disturbances can occur and how they can be prevented. Special emphasis is placed on analysing the power supply, voltage drops, power requirements and how different operating conditions affect the system's stability and capacity. **Outline for distance course:** The course is given in Swedish. Teaching includes lectures and seminars online. Communication during the course takes place via the course page on the learning platform Studium. Access to a computer with a stable internet connection and a webcam is required. Each student chooses a topic of their interest and conducts an individual investigation. The course concludes with an oral presentation and a written report. The time for the presentations is planned in dialogue with the student. Active participation in seminars is examined with a quiz for those students who cannot attend the lectures.
