Overview
Students study and perform Western classical music repertoires for various ensemble constellations in different styles and from various epochs. They identify and solve technical and rendition problems relating to style, performance practice, notation issues, and interpretation in various forms of ensemble music from different epochs. They also discuss artistic issues, reflect critically upon approaches to musical interplay, and identify their own needs of development. Students whose main instrument is the piano also practise accompaniment. Parts of the repertoire are performed in concerts. Instruction is in the form of group lessons and concentrated rehearsals during project weeks.
