Ensemble III, Western classical music

Students study, interpret, and perform chamber music pieces for different types of ensembles with a repertoire which takes into account the potential of the individual instrument. The repertoire engages different epochs and styles, and collaboration is possible with other genres, artistic areas, and forms of expression.The course covers performance practices, style, sheet music issues, and interpretation in a broad musical and artistic field and in different musical styles and ensembles. Artistic methods and processes, artistic approaches and assessment, technical and performance-related considerations for the repertoire in question are included, as well as the musical performance of students, their role as musicians, and in-house and external concerts. Teaching is also based on the profile of each student, which means that the repertoires of different students vary. Gender equality and sustainable development are taken into account, especially through a fair distribution of coursework and equal treatment independent of gender, ethnicity, and so on, as well as a well-structured course content which is relevant and sustainable for future professional activities. Instruction is in the form of group lessons, seminars, and master classes.
