Overview
Här får du inblick i svensk och västerländsk mode- och klädhistoria från forntid till ca 1900, med tyngdpunkt på 1700- och 1800-talen. Du får veta mer om hantverk, status, modeideal och kläder under den förindustriella perioden samt mode och kläder i ett framväxande konsumtionssamhälle. Genomgående problematiseras hur kläder och mode kopplas till det omgivande samhället. Produktion och konsumtion av tyger och kläder, relationer mellan kropp och kläder samt klädernas betydelser i genuskonstruktioner är återkommande teman. Kursen är tvärvetenskaplig och fokus ligger på de områden där modern forskning föreligger.
