Overview
Den här kursen ger grundläggande kunskaper om filmen och dess förhållande till andra konstarter, till historien och till de samhällens utveckling där filmen producerats och visats. Film och besläktade fenomen inom den digitala skärmkulturen får sin belysning med hjälp av olika filmvetenskapliga analysmetoder, och film- och medieteorins grunddrag och utveckling presenteras. Förutom föreläsningar och seminarieövningar ges undervisning också i form av ett stort antal filmförevisningar. En viktig del är att se och analysera olika typer av bildberättande, från tidig stumfilm över televisionens skilda programtyper till modern populärfilm. Intermediala perspektiv genomsyrar de flesta moment.
