Overview
The first course module explores film theory and method in depth. We will study historical and contemporary work in film and media theory, focussing on the relation between theoretical perspectives and practical research methods. The second course prepares students directly for the MA dissertation, as course participants write a critical analysis of the current state of research in a film historical or theoretical area relevant to the subject that the students aim to explore in their MA dissertation. In the final part of the course, students write an academic dissertation. In order to pass, they shall also take part in a seminar where they act as opponents on each other's MA dissertations.

Entry requirements
Film Studies 90 credits, including a degree project of at least 15 credits. You also need Swedish 3 and English 6 or Swedish, level 3 and English, level 2.
