I den här kursen behandlas olika perspektiv på folkbildning, såväl i som utanför studieförbund,folkhögskolor och kulturinstitutioner. Genom kursen skall deltagarna förvärva kunskaper om folkbildning som idé och praktik samt folkbildningens historiska utveckling och samtida utmaningar. I kursen behandlas följande teman:(Folk)bildningsbegreppet som pedagogisk filosofi och kunskapssyn, Folkrörelser, bildning och demokrati, Kulturbegreppet i folkbildande verksamhet, samt Folkbildningen och det omgivande samhället. Kursen genomsyras av ett bildningsperspektiv vilket påverkar upplägg, innehåll och kursuppgifter.
