General entry requirements for first-cycle studies and: a) specific entry requirements in certain subjects; b) basic forestry education as specified below; c) professional or vocational experience in forestry. a) Specific entry requirements in the following subjects: Mathematics 2a, 2b or 2c, Natural sciences 2, Social sciences 1b or 1a1. Alternatively: Mathematics level 2a, 2b or 2c, Natural sciences level 2, Social sciences 1b or level 1a1. The specific entry requirements stated above can also be met by applicants who have obtained equivalent knowledge. b) Basic forestry education. This requirement is met through passing grades comprising 500 upper-secondary school credits from the following courses/subjects belonging to the natural resources programme: Motor saws and brush cutters 1, Forestry 1, Forest products, Terrain transport, alternatively Vehicles and tools, Timber transportation with forwarders. Alternatively: Motor saws and brush cutters level 1, Forestry level 1, Forest products level 1, Terrain transport level 1, Forest machines level 1. Basic forestry education can be replaced with long-term professional or vocational experience in forestry comprising a minimum of five years of full-time work and meeting the criteria specified under professional or vocational experience. c) professional or vocational forestry experience. This criterion is met through: Six months of forestry experience obtained in periods of at least one month. Applicants must have turned 16 when the experience was obtained for it to be eligible. Approximately 50 per cent of the practical experience must have been acquired within one of the following areas: silviculture, logging and transportation, planning and administration. The remainder may have focused on other forestry-related areas, such as plant nurseries, the forestry industry, timber scaling and hunting and fishery. Professional experience must have been a minimum of part-time and be the equivalent of six months’ full-time work.
