Overview
Kursen ger en introduktion till geografiska informationssystem (GIS) inklusive grundläggande kartografi. Kursen ger träning i att kunna beställa, tolka och producera GIS-material som kan ligga till grund för planering och beslutsfattande. Stor vikt läggs vid att skapa kartor i GIS-program. Kursen är till övervägande del praktiskt inriktad, det vill säga undervisningen sker mestadels i projektform. Undervisningen har en tydlig koppling till arbetsmarknaden genom diksussion av konkreta exempel och arbete med verkliga fall. Kursen är en samläsning mellan Samhällplaneringsprogrammet (termin 2) och Samhällsvetarprogrammet. För studenter inom Samhällsplaneringsprogrammet är kursen obligatorisk.
