Kursen handlar om att tolka och förstå processer i det svenska och europeiska agrara landskapet och hurmänniskor har agerat i rummet från förhistorisk till modern tid, speglat i skilda teoretiska perspektiv. Fokusligger på landsbygden, dess struktur, produktion och förändring över tid men även tidig modernisering ochglobalisering diskuteras. Källor som kan användas för att analysera landskapets historia behandlas, såsomhistorisk kartmaterial, skriftligt källmaterial och fältmaterial. Kursen innehåller övningar i metoder förhistoriska landskapsanalyser, som kan användas i tillämpningar med relevans för studier av kulturarv ochinom kulturmiljövård.
