Geology: Quaternary Geology and Landscape Dynamics

<p>This course provides you with the tools and knowledge needed to analyze and understand the processes that have shaped and continue to reshape today's landscapes in scientific and professional contexts. You will work with complex issues related to how landscape development is connected to climate change, erosion problems, pollution spread, and water. You will gain both theoretical knowledge about processes and methodologies, and practical training in applying your knowledge within a project.</p> <p>The main purpose of the course is to train you to analyze landscapes based on your own observations, field studies, and analyses. This is done through extensive project-based field teaching. The project is carried out in a geographical area where many different aspects of the landscape and its development are observed and analyzed. This includes the use of maps, studies of sedimentary structures, sampling of sediments, and laboratory analyses. The way of working within the project is organized similarly to a project in research or industry.</p>
