<p>The course provides an introduction to glass design, glass manufacturing and techniques used in the crafts-based glass industry. Through a practical project, you develop a design idea that forms the basis for a series of glass objects manufactured in collaboration with professional glass blowers. </p><p>The course provides an introduction to glass design, with a focus on the development of mainly Swedish and Italian crafts-based glass industry through the ages. </p><p>The course combines theoretical elements with practical work in the field of glass. </p><p>You gain knowledge of basic techniques for glass blowing, heat-working and cold-working, as well as glass chemistry, heat theory and mold-making. </p><p>You also gain experience of carrying out a complete innovation project, from idea to small-scale serial production. </p><p>The course is structured around a practical project in glass design and mold-making. </p><p>In the project, you develop a design idea for a small blown glass object. You also produce a mold suitable for serial production and evaluate the suitability of the design idea for production.
