<p>Denna grundkurs är en introduktion till judendom, islam, hinduism och buddhism. Vilka centrala trosövertygelser präglar dessa religioner? Varför tolkas sådana övertygelser på delvis olika sätt? Vilka invändningar skulle kunna föras fram mot dessa tolkningar? Hur relaterar centralt trosinnehåll till heliga skrifter, religiösa praktiker och religionernas historiska framväxt? Det här är några av de frågor som kursen berör och diskuterar. Kursen ger också en introduktion till centrala metoder och teorier inom ämnet religionshistoria och den studerande tränar på att identifiera religionshistoriska problem, att använda grundläggande religionsvetenskaplig terminologi och att skilja den från inomreligiösa termer.</p>

General entry requirements for undergraduate studies and History and Social studies corresponding to the level in Swedish upper secondary education (Historia 1b or 1a1 and 1a2 or Historia nivå 1b or nivå 1a2 and Samhällskunskap 1b or 1a1 and 1a2 or Samhällskunskap nivå 1b or nivå 1a2) or 7,5 ECTS credits passed in one or several subject areas.
