Overview
Den här kursen ger en introduktion till filosofiska perspektiv på mänskliga rättigheter. Kursen tar avstamp i det klassiska och tidigmoderna naturrättstänkandet, men sträcker sig sedan fram till mer nutida försök att försvara idéer om mänskliga rättigheter utan hänvisning till människans inneboende natur. Kursen behandlar också kritiken mot mänskliga rättigheter, däribland utilitarism, rättspositivism och kulturrelativism. Kursen utgår från en västerländsk idétradition, men problematiserar samtidigt föreställningen om att det är från denna tradition som våra idéer om mänskliga rättigheter härstammar.
