Implementation and evaluation of risk management efforts

The course deepens the understanding of implementation and evaluation of risk management measures in society. The course is based on the principle that risk management and safety-promoting measures are an integrated part of society and must be designed with regard to factors that contribute to a sustainable system. Efforts to manage risks and organise safety precautions must address the individual as well as policy and decision-making processes in general. Special emphasis is on systematic methods for implementing and evaluating risk management and different safety and security promoting measures. The course is offered as distance education with 1-2 on-campus meetings (Karlstad University). On-campus instruction is in the form of lectures, seminars, and discussions. Seminars are part of assessment and therefore mandatory.
