<p>In this advanced course, you will delve into 18th-century instrumental and vocal counterpoint. You will also develop your own compositional skills in the same style through analysis and practical exercises.</p><p>The course is aimed at those who want to develop their knowledge of counterpoint with a focus on 18th century music. You will work with both instrumental and vocal counterpoint. Most of the course is devoted to Johann Sebastian Bach's compositional technique. Through analyses, writing exercises and practical composition tasks, you will learn to understand and apply Bach's way of building music. </p><p>Teaching takes place in groups, and the course is examined continuously and at a final seminar. To be eligible for this course, you must have completed undergraduate studies in music theory. </p>
