Självständigt arbete (Master) i idrottsvetenskap, 15 högskolepoäng, är en uppsatskurs där den studerande får möjlighet att fördjupa sina kunskaper inom ett valt idrottsvetenskapligt område. Kursens huvudsakliga innehåll utgörs av således av planering, genomförande, avrapportering av en vetenskaplig studie, samt en kritisk granskning av annat ett självständigt arbete. Undervisningen består av kontinuerlig kontakt med en handledare som stödjer den studerande i sin vetenskapliga process. Kursen kan till exempel användas för en specialistexamen eller förbereda för forskarstudier.

Specific entry requirements: 4IV311 The Sports Movement between Tradition and Change, 7.5 credits 4IM001 Theory and Methodology in Sport Science, 7.5 credits 4IV320 Philosophy of Science and Research Ethics, 7.5 credits 4IV319 The Sport Science Research Field, 7.5 credits 4IV323 Specified Course in Research Method, 7.5 credits or the equivalent.
