Overview
The Internet of Things (IoT), the concept of smart factory and automation imply generation of vast amounts of data. Such data often carries properties of Volume, Velocity, Variety, Veracity, and Value and is referred to as Big Data. Being a new field, Big Data spawned and continues to spawn new architectures and technical solutions which are often not easy to navigate. This course delivers and introduction to the field of Big Data and major Big Data technologies, explains the principles of NoSQL databases that are commonly used in Big Data solutions and unfolds main principles of Big Data analysis. NOTE suitable prior knowledge for this course is the basic course in programming with Python, PIA600, Programming for Industrial Applications 3 HE credits. **Industry and academy**<br> This course has been developed in collaboration with industry partners within the framework of one of our educational projects. The project aims to provide courses at the advanced level to a mix of professionals and students to strengthen the Swedish industry's competitiveness. We apply validation of work experience to see if you have knowledge that corresponds to the eligibility requirements for the course.
