Kursen behandlar vad industriellt företagande innebär och vilken betydelse det ekonomiska utfallet har för verksamheten samt olika metoder för planering och styrning av en verksamhet. Vidare behandlas översiktligt begrepp och modeller inom kalkylering, investeringsbedömning, redovisning, organisation och marknadsföring utifrån industriföretagets förutsättningar. Kursen skapar förutsättningar för studenten att självständigt samla relevant data och sammanställa beslutsunderlag med fokus på ekonomiska överväganden. Hur beslut i olika situationer påverkar såväl det omgivande samhället som den egna organisationen behandlas också.
