Informatics: Introduction to Information Systems

<p>In this course you will learn how to solve business problems and create value for organisations using information technology (IT) and artificial intelligence (AI). You will learn the basics of how information systems and businesses can be developed, and you will work in a goal-oriented way in projects with organisational change, system design and AI-assisted programming.</p><p>You will also learn to defend your solutions, to navigate the scientific literature on information systems, and to write and critically analyse reports.</p> <p>Information systems provide central support for data and information management in organisations. The aim of the course is to create a basic understanding of them.</p> <p>The course is characterised by the design of information systems in the form of project work, laboratory sessions, and presentations.</p> <p>In the course you will learn about and work with:<br /> •    information systems in relation to business, IT and digitalisation,<br /> •    developing design proposals to solve real-world business problems, using modelling languages suitable for model-driven development,<br /> •    implementing your design proposals by building software using modern tools and with the help of AI,<br /> •    designing, presenting, arguing, and planning an information systems project,<br /> •    conducting and defending a simple study on an assigned topic.</p> <p><a href="https://kursplaner.lu.se/pdf/litteratur/senaste/en/sysa21" rel="nofollow">Literature</a></p> <h3>Course director</h3> <p><a href="https://www.lusem.lu.se/bjorn-svensson" rel="nofollow">Björn Svensson</a></p>
